When you create a new e-mail account in DirectAdmin, for example contact@example.com, all e-mails sent to this address will be delivered to the mailbox associated with that account. Therefore, you need to configure your e-mail client to use the e-mail address as the username, i.e., contact@example.com.
The password associated with this account is the one you set up when creating the e-mail account.
If it does not work, try accessing your e-mail account through webmail. If you can't log in, double-check that you are using the correct credentials. If webmail login is successful, the issue may be caused by a firewall blocking your e-mail client from connecting to our servers.
Additionally, check if a spam filter is redirecting incoming e-mails directly to the spam folder or, even worse, deleting them.
