Within DirectAdmin, you can create e-mail addresses using your domain name, such as contact@example.com or sales@example.com. If you forget the password for one of your e-mail addresses, you can reset it through DirectAdmin.
Follow the steps below to update your password:
Setting a new password
1. Log in to DirectAdmin.
2. In the menu, go to 'E-mail Manager' → 'E-mail Accounts'.
3. You now see all the e-mail addresses that have been created on your hosting package. Click the three dots next to the account that you want to change the password for and choose 'Change Password/Username'.
Do not change the password of the default address! If you change the password of, for example, system@example.com, it will also affect your DirectAdmin password. This address is used for the internal functioning of DirectAdmin and not for regular e-mail traffic.
4. Enter a new password for the e-mail account under 'Password' and click 'Save'.
5. The password has now been changed. You can use it, along with your e-mail address as the username, to log in to services such as our webmail. If you use an external e-mail client like Outlook, be sure to update the password there as well.
6. Hovering over the question mark next to an e-mail account shows the date when the password was last changed.
