In this manual, we explain how to configure e-mail addresses in Office 365 Outlook. This version of Outlook is part of the Microsoft Office 365 suite.
1. Launch the Outlook desktop application.
2. If this is your first time opening Outlook, the Add Account wizard will start automatically. If you already have an account in Outlook, go to File → Info. Under Account Settings, select Account Settings and click New to add another account.
3. Type the full e-mail address you want to add and click Connect.
4. Insert the password for your e-mail address. Make sure you use the same password you use for webmail or the one set in your hosting control panel.
Not sure about the password? Log in to webmail with your e-mail address to confirm you are using the correct one. If that does not work, reset the password through your control panel.
5. If Outlook displays a security or SSL certificate warning, first verify that the mail server settings are correct. If you are certain the connection is safe, you can choose to proceed, but the recommended solution is to use the correct server name to prevent this warning.
6. Choose your account type by selecting IMAP (recommended) or POP. IMAP keeps your e-mail synced across all devices, while POP downloads messages to your device and may remove them from the server. If unsure, IMAP is generally the safer and more convenient option.
7. Enter the server settings if Outlook does not detect them automatically.
Incoming mail server (IMAP or POP): mail.antagonist.nl
Port: IMAP 993 (SSL/TLS), POP 995 (SSL/TLS)
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.antagonist.nl
Port: 465 or 587 (SSL/TLS or STARTTLS)
8. For authentication, enter your full e-mail address and the corresponding password. Ensure that the option 'Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)' is not checked
9. Once your credentials are entered, click 'Next'. Outlook will then test the account settings, checking both incoming and outgoing server connections. If the test is successful, click 'Done' to complete the setup.
10. Your mailbox will begin syncing with the server, which may take some time depending on the number of e-mails and size of your folders. Once syncing is complete, you can start sending and receiving messages through Outlook.
