Secure connections are available for your website, FTP, e-mail, and hosting control panel. A secure connection ensures that all data is transmitted in an encrypted form, preventing anyone from intercepting or eavesdropping on the communication. SSL certificates are used to provide this level of security.
These certificates are issued by a limited number of authorised organisations and are assigned individually to each domain name. Typically, the certificate also includes the registered owner’s name.
If a valid SSL certificate is missing or invalid, security warnings may appear when attempting to use an SSL connection.
We provide free SSL certificates for all your domain names by default. To use SSL successfully on your website, you must ensure that there is no mixed content on your pages and that all traffic is redirected to HTTPS. If these steps are not followed, the padlock icon will not appear in your browser's address bar when visiting your site.
For the hosting control panel, FTP, and e-mail, a single central SSL certificate is used for the entire server. As a result, browsers, e-mail clients, and FTP programs may occasionally display security warnings when connecting.
Alternative addresses
For e-mail, a central mail server is provided, which can use a valid certificate thanks to its central name. If you see warnings when retrieving your e-mail, change the mail server addresses to mail.antagonist.nl to remove the warnings.
